Hemingway - Corrida Leather Wrapped Mirror

Corrida Leather Wrapped Mirror

The Spanish name for bullfight is la corrida. Hemingway wrote in an early piece for the Toronto Star that the bullfight is “less a sport than a tragedy.” He felt the tragedy to be the inevitable death of the bull. Three of Hemingway’s novels, The Sun also Rises (1926), Death In The Afternoon (1932) and The Dangerous Summer (published posthumously in 1985) are centered on matadors and bullfighting.
