Granada is one of three key cities that Ernest Hemingway and new friend Robert McAlmon visited in May of 1923, while touring Spain’s famed bullfighting regions for the first time. Many of the sights and situations Hemingway witnessed during this tour were used in two of his works – The Sun Also Rises (1926) and Death in the Afternoon (1932).
